Aushotrodhistory.com.au is a Wiki-styled website that relies on the contributions of its readers.
Without the generous amounts of photos, stories and other pieces of information submitted to us, our archives couldn’t be comprehensive. Our goal is to become the most definitive online source of Australian hot rod history, and we cannot do this on our own.
We are always looking for new information and submissions, so if you have a small piece of Australian hot rodding history you’d like to share, please don’t hesitate to contact us about it.
All submissions are credited to the best of our ability, and we will work with you in order to make sure all information is as credible as possible.
What are we looking for?
Any good quality digital photographs depicting vehicles, people, locations or anything else hot rod-related up to the 1980s. Along with these, any information possible relating to the photographs or their subject matter.
The most basic information we are looking for is:
- When was the photo taken?
- Where was the photo taken?
- What cars are pictured? Including any specifications
- Who owns the cars pictured?
- Did you take the photo or is it from someone else?
Any other stories or anecdotal information is also much appreciated, it helps us to better describe the culture associated with the Australian hot rodding community.
For all intents and purposes, we consider a ‘hot rod’ as a modified pre-1941 vehicle.
