Drag-ens club member and New South Wales resident Ronnie Williams built and raced this ’33 Ford Fordor.
The Fordor was full-fendered, unchopped and unchannelled. The body was black and the grille bars were painted red.
It was powered by an 8BA Ford flathead V8 bored 0.040″ over, with another 0.040″ taken off modified heads. It ran an Ace cam, 3 Stromberg 94s on direct linkage and Pilot headers to a straight-through exhaust. 11lbs were taken off the flywheel.
Ronnie recalls problems with racing a full quarter-mile drag race:
“…let down by stinkin’ SU fuel pumps that used to starve out about two-thirds down the strip… always coasted the last part of the ride.” [1]
